PreviewOur trip to Mount Gulugod Baboy in Mabini, Batangas was part of a bigger Mabini loop. We started from the Anilao side, made our way toward the mountain, continued through Talaga, and eventually returned toward Mabini Proper.
Before heading to the trail, we stopped for lunch at Micucinare Italian Kitchen. It was a good time to recharge before the climb, and after lunch, we continued toward Gulugod Baboy.
We wanted to capture more than just the view from the summit. The road, the trail, the open grasslands, and the different viewpoints were all part of our experience.
Our 360° virtual tour lets you look around the same places we explored, giving you a better idea of what the trail and surroundings look like before making the trip yourself.
When we arrived, we paid the environmental fee and prepared ourselves for what we expected to be a difficult hike. Surprisingly, the trail was more manageable than we thought.
There was an established path to follow, and after a relatively short climb, we reached the first peak.
That's when the scenery really opened up.
We were surrounded by green rolling hills, cool mountain air, and wide views of the sea, mountains, and distant islands. We ended up staying for about an hour just tambay, taking photos, talking, and enjoying the view.
We eventually explored another peak and found a different perspective of the surrounding landscape. Along the way, we even had an unexpected encounter with a cow. We were a little nervous at first, but it turned out to be a surprisingly calm visitor.
If you're planning to hike Gulugod Baboy, give yourself enough time to enjoy the summit instead of rushing through the trail. Bring water, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and check the weather before going. There's also a small store near the trail where you can buy food and drinks, which can be convenient before or after the hike.
Because of the open grasslands and scenic views, the mountain is also a nice place for camping and photos, especially if you want to spend more time outdoors.
With the Upbarri 360° virtual tour, you can explore parts of the established trail, open summit areas, green rolling hills, and viewpoints overlooking the sea, mountains, and distant islands.
It's a way to get a feel for the Gulugod Baboy hiking experience before making the climb yourself.
